Report a correction

Every figure on this site comes from records the Government of Canada publishes. If something here is wrong, tell us. A person checks every report against the government record, and every correction we make is listed at the bottom of this page. Go to the form.

What we correct

  • Wrong amountsAn amount, date, attendee count or total that does not match the government record it came from.
  • Wrong person or departmentRecords shown under the wrong official or department, or two spellings joined that are not the same person.
  • Broken record linksA link to a government record that no longer opens or opens the wrong record.
  • Errors in the government record itselfIf the record is wrong (for example a misplaced decimal), the department that published it can correct it. Tell us as well, and we will note it in the log.

How we handle a report

  1. We read every report and look up the record on open.canada.ca.
  2. If our site differs from the record, we fix it and add an entry to the corrections log below.
  3. If the government record itself is wrong, we say so in the log, link the record, and keep showing the figure as the government published it until the department corrects it.
  4. If the site matches the record, nothing changes. If you left an email address we may write back to explain.

We check new reports at least once a month, when the data is refreshed. We do not remove accurate government records on request.

Tell us what is wrong

The page you were on, or the record reference number or link that is wrong.

What the site says, what it should say, and where you found that, if you can.

Only so we can ask a question or reply. It is never published.

To limit abuse we store a one-way hash of your network address that changes every day, never the address itself.
