Report a correction
Every figure on this site comes from records the Government of Canada publishes. If something here is wrong, tell us. A person checks every report against the government record, and every correction we make is listed at the bottom of this page. Go to the form.
What we correct
- Wrong amountsAn amount, date, attendee count or total that does not match the government record it came from.
- Wrong person or departmentRecords shown under the wrong official or department, or two spellings joined that are not the same person.
- Broken record linksA link to a government record that no longer opens or opens the wrong record.
- Errors in the government record itselfIf the record is wrong (for example a misplaced decimal), the department that published it can correct it. Tell us as well, and we will note it in the log.
How we handle a report
- We read every report and look up the record on open.canada.ca.
- If our site differs from the record, we fix it and add an entry to the corrections log below.
- If the government record itself is wrong, we say so in the log, link the record, and keep showing the figure as the government published it until the department corrects it.
- If the site matches the record, nothing changes. If you left an email address we may write back to explain.
We check new reports at least once a month, when the data is refreshed. We do not remove accurate government records on request.
